Likely Results of Inventing Disposition Parenting

Kids who grow up with an emotionally distancing, Inventing Disposition parent are likely to have undeveloped social skills, low self-esteem, and/or a fear of failure. With little emotional connection or daily flow of caring interactions, age-appropriate expectations, and parental feedback, these children often feel unloved and are unaware of their own skills, strengths, and talents. These kids will seek connection and acceptance somewhere; sometimes caring relatives, teachers, or other concerned adults fill this need, and sometimes it is gang members who meet their needs for belonging and contribution.
